About the Artist
Canadian born New South Whales based makeup artist.
I come from a background of acrylic painting and graphite drawing, I have translated those skills and applied them into my work on faces.
Growing up I was beauty obsesed, I'm not sure exactly how it started, but my earliest memory of loving makeup was getting in trouble for wearing lipstick to school when I was 6. As I grew so did the size of technology and youtube videos. I would spend hours watching and learning how to do makeup.
A key memory and factor to my makeup journey was never really seeing anyone with a face like mine, hooded eyes, fuller lips, asian features, things not often represented during the early to mid 2000's. This forced me to learn how to do makeup on different features very early on, understanding a upturned wing wont suit my eye as well as one that pulls outward, and that I didn't have to make my lips look smaller to feel beautiful. I believe it was this that has given me a eye for attention to detail and curating a makeup look suited for whoever sits in my chair.
Today my work still mirrors my longing to return to childhood, playful colours and textures added glitz and glam are all things you will find peaking through my work. Although I see faces as a canvas and I love creating whatever crazy ideas pop into my head, I do also enjoy a classic glam and seeing someones face light up and sharing that feeling of beauty with them.
